I've been crocheting for awhile now. Long enough to get a bit bored with it. I think I'll tackle something with a bit more challenge to it. I've been looking at beaded crochet and it may be something to try. I like the beaded amulet pouch and it's supposed to be easy. Sounds like a plan! Stay tuned.

I bought a new bike, Electra Townie, golden yellow (so they can see me coming) with a black seat and grips and it's really great. Nephew Bill calls it the Bee, as in bumblebee. God knows I need the exercise. It has the Flat Foot technology so you can remain seated on the bike and put your feet on the ground. It's great if you haven't been on a bike for some time (like me) and are a little nervous on the roadway. I've been riding for about a month now and am regaining some of the confidence I used to have. The bike lanes in our city go from end to end and all through the neighborhood so I have plenty of areas to ride in. There are also trails designated for bikes so the area I live in is very bike friendly.

I am still getting sidetracked on my blogging. I keep losing the addys, duh, but manage to locate them. However, I still can't seem to post to AllysBack so I'm going to have to find the email addy I used to set it up and give it another try.

I am heading to LA for a conference in mid March and the a quick turn around to Portland a day after I return to house-sit for a friend going to Texas for the week. The only other trip I have is in May for a month. BIL is going to Europe and I'll house-sit for him. Gives me a break from the routine ................

COLD this morning. 26 degrees in Northern Cali. Pray for summer.

I picked up my crochet hooks and knitting needles after a very long hiatus and got busy making a few items for the bazaar coming up in November/December. I joined a group on the net called Ravelry and they have a great site! Props to the group that runs it. Go to Ravelry.com and check it out. Tons of pattern and loads of help if you need it. Our group makes primarily shawls but we do a lot of other items for the sales we hold 4 times a year so I was browsing their very extensive library for a few patterns to try. I made a few hats and did 2 baby blankets.
I've had the top off the Jeep for a month now. I have a bikini top that my nephew bought and it does the job. Cuts the light and air just enough to make it a bit more comfortable. It's hell on the 'do but who cares!! I'll have to post a pic the next time. Look for the red Jeep!

Hope there's no in my Halloween haul this year, NOT!!!!

Well, it was a good trip this time. The weather actually cooperated and it only rained half the time I was there instead of a month of rain. AND I didn't come home with a cold either. Bonus!
I did have two Spring seasons to go through as they are about a month behind us here in California. That meant a lot of sneezing and sniffling until everything finished blooming and pollinating. Their garden was still in the beginning stages so I did a lot of watering after it quit raining every day. All in all, I had a great time. I would up staying an additional 10 days so a friend could go to her family reunion. Got home on the 10th and was glad for it.

Being a retired shoe buyer on the wholesale level I find it difficult buying shoes at the retail level. I know what the store paid for them and it pains me to see upwards of 500% mark up on them. That being said, I still have at least 30 pairs of shoes and can change them in a blink of an eye. I feel they complete the look that I'm aiming for. I;ll always be a shoe ho'.

They provide company can be trained to help. I have a Jack Russell that runs out to get the newspaper on rainy days. If it's clear, he doesn't even look up when I open the door! He loves to chase bunnies and faithfully patrols the perimeter of the yard for intruders. He's a bundle of energy and he keeps me going all day.

Stay off the teacup ride!

After a quick lunch my nephew wanted to go on the teacup ride. Being the indulgent aunt, I said of course, let's go. Well by the time I got off that stupid spinning top of a ride, I was ready to hurl my lunch at the small world characters! Ruined the entire day; nausea and headzche non-stop for the remainder of the tour.

I have a cactus plant that was given to me by a friend and it has finally flowered. I have no idea what the name of the plant is but the flower is very striking. Does anyone know what it is called? I'd really appreciate any input.
